Detective Senior Constable Michael Reilly (Michael Lionel Reilly) was a fictional character from the Australian police drama ''Water Rats''. He was portrayed by Aaron Pedersen. He appeared on the show from early season four to the end of the series.
==Character biography==
Michael (better known as Mick) worked with V.I.P Security before he got the job as a detective with the Sydney Water Police.〔Season four, episode 7 – ''End Game''〕 He initially worked with Frank Holloway (Colin Friels) and Rachel Goldstein (Catherine McClements), and when Frank left, he met Jack Christey (Steve Bisley) for the first time.
In season four, Mick had met and had a short-lived relationship with Suzi Abromavich (Roxane Wilson),〔Season four, episode 11 – ''Good Times and Adventures''〕 an ex-prostitute, who Rachel constantly reminded Mick not to trust (having met her in season three).
In season five, Mick was the subject of a sexual harassment claim by a woman who worked with ASIO,〔Season five, episode 9 – ''Chinese Checkers''〕 which he fought and the charge was subsequently dropped.〔Season five, episode 10 – ''The Trouble with Gary''〕 He also asked Alex St. Clare (Dee Smart) out, but she was reluctant because of their working relationship.〔Season five, episode 36 – ''True Believer''〕
In season six, Mick's sister Jess asked him to help her husband beat a criminal charge, but in doing so meant that his brother-in-law was murdered because of it.〔Season six, episode 9 – ''The Thin Edge''〕
